Middlesbrough midfielder Rhys Williams has said he will consider his future if the club cannot meet his ambitions of playing Premier League football.

The 23-year-old has been a regular in Tony Mowbray's side this season, scoring two goals in 24 games as part of Boro's Championship promotion push.

"My dream is to get this club up," .

"If something happens and we don't go up this season then yeah, I want to have a look around."

Williams, an Australia international, was linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers in the summer, and .

"It's obviously nice to hear people saying I'm doing well, and it gives me confidence on the pitch," Williams added.

"I'm delighted with the speculation as well as it's always nice to be linked with the Premier League."

Since joining the club's renowned academy set-up from Perth-based ECU Joondalup, Williams has gone on to make 71 appearances, scoring five goals for the Teessiders, who currently lie third in the Championship table.

Despite making appearances for the Wales under-21 side, Williams opted to play senior international football for Australia and made his debut against Japan in June 2009. He now has nine caps.
