Brighton defender Adam El-Abd says he is feeling no ill-effects following his return from a stress fracture.

The 27-year-old missed seven months through injury but he has started the Seagulls' last two games.

He told "Injury is the worst part of being a professional footballer and it's really good to be back in amongst it.

"Considering the length of time I've been out, I've felt fairly good fitness-wise."

Championship is tight, says El-Abd

The Albion travel to the Championship's bottom side Coventry on New Year's Eve, but El-Abd has warned there is no room for complacency.

"It's a competitive league and every game is tough," he added.

"There isn't much in it between any of the sides in this division. Each game can be decided on one key moment, and that's proved to be the case in the last couple of games.

"To take Coventry lightly could be at our peril."
