AFC Wimbledon have signed ex-Wimbledon striker Jason Euell.

The 34-year-old, who has agreed a five-week loan deal from Charlton, was a trainee at the Dons and scored 47 goals in 177 games between 1995 and 2001.

Jamaica-born Euell then moved to Charlton for 拢4.75m, and after spells at Southampton and Blackpool.

AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown said: "Jason will bring with him Premier League quality and experience."

He told the club website: "Jason will join us for training on Thursday and I know the coaching staff are looking forward to working alongside a true Wimbledon legend.

"Jason also gives us fantastic variety in the positions he plays as he can play anywhere in midfield and anywhere up front."

Euell has scored twice in 15 appearances for Charlton this season, all but three of which were as a substitute.

He played three Premier League games for Blackpool during the 2010-11 season before joining Doncaster on loan.

Prior to that he scored 41 goals in 141 league games during a six-year spell at Wimbledon, but left before the club were renamed MK Dons in 2002.

Brown added: "I am sure the welcome he receives from the Dons faithful will quickly remind him of the fans' admiration for him and his achievements with Wimbledon in the past.

"Jason will come straight into the side for the first of two tricky away fixtures at Port Vale and Gillingham.

"I know this signing will give the fans a lift but I am also sure it will give our players a great lift."

Euell's last match for AFC Wimbledon will be the League Two clash with Northampton Town on 14 February.
