Aldershot Town assistant manager Matt Bishop is not surprised Shots boss Dean Holdsworth was approached about the vacant post at Crawley Town.
Holdsworth turned down a move to the League One club earlier this week.
"From a personal point of view I'm delighted because of our relationship. Dean's doing a fantastic job," Bishop told 大象传媒 Surrey.
"It won't be the last time he gets linked with other jobs. He's good at what he does."
Bishop added: "You can see what he's done here in a short space of time. The club is making big strides.
"It's very professional and it's a privilege to come in every day and work here."
Bishop believes Holdsworth's decision to stay at the EBB Stadium is partly due to a sense of optimism over the club's future.
"There is something special maybe brewing here," Bishop continued.
"You can see the strength of the squad we've got. We've got a team that can play two or three different systems and we can set ourselves up for home and away performances.
"If we're going to close that gap to the play-offs, we'll need that. We finished on a high last year and we want to continue that.
"It's exciting. We've enjoyed coming back for pre-season and starting again with the players.
"We're delighted by what they've done so far and things are coming together.
"The important thing is we're getting the players gelling and they're understanding each other."
