Cheltenham's Chris Zebroski hopes he can secure a role playing as a striker.

The 25-year-old joined from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee this summer where he was used in a number of roles, including winger.

"My best position is up front and that's where I'm more of a goal threat," he told

"The gaffer has already said he doesn't know who is going to be starting on Saturday and that's a good thing, so I'm going to be looking to impress."

Zebroski started his career at non-league Cirencester Town before joining Plymouth and then Millwall.

He was sent out on loan to Torquay and Oxford during his time at the Den and eventually

for a second loan spell in November 2009 and made his switch permanent three months later, becoming their top-scorer the following season with 15 goals.

He netted just five times last year at Rovers and believes a change of scenery is what he needed at this stage of his development.

"I think it was time to move on and I want to get my head down and start playing for Cheltenham," he added.

"I feel it's a good place for me at this time in my career as I need to be playing games and scoring.

"I'm not going to say we're going to win the league but we've got a good bunch of lads here, a lot of ability, good team spirit and I think we've got a very good season ahead of us."
