Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson is hoping to extend the loan deal of Carlisle striker Paddy Madden.

The Dublin-born 22-year-old is halfway through his month-long loan spell at Huish Park and has scored five goals in four games.

When asked if Carlisle would be willing to extend Madden's deal, Johnson told 大象传媒 Somerset: "You'd like to think so but it depends on the two clubs.

"We're going to have to tie him down and hide him somewhere."

He added: "We knew he would prove to be good for us. Now we've just got to keep quiet about it and hope no-one has noticed."

His time at Brunton Park has been dogged by injury and he made 24 appearances before notching his first goal for the Cumbrians, which came against the Glovers in February 2012.

The Republic of Ireland Under-23 international added just one goal to his tally before being sent out on loan.

But Madden has flourished at Yeovil, who have won three of their last four league matches, and he says his stint in Somerset has brought back his confidence.

"I always knew once I'd got my chance that I was capable of playing in this league," he said.

"The gaffer has given me the chance and I'm repaying him.

"I want to keep showing what I can do and keep pushing Yeovil up the table."
