Morecambe 1-1 Rochdale

Jason Kennedy's second-half equaliser earned Rochdale an FA Cup first-round replay against Morecambe.

Kennedy fired in the rebound after home keeper Barry Roche had saved well from George Donnelly's strike.

Midfielder Andy Fleming had given Morecambe an early lead when he struck from 20 yards out.

Bobby Grant saw three attempts saved by Roche while the hosts went close to snatching the win but Nick Fenton's header was tipped over by Josh Lillis.

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley

"I think we're quite lucky to still be in it. We didn't do enough to win the game. At certain stages, they looked like they wanted it a little bit more than us.

After the first 20 minutes, we were deservedly in the lead and should have put the game out of reach.

"While it's 1-0, they're always in the game. Deservedly, they got themselves back on level terms.

"We could have come away winners, but I don't think we did enough to win the game."

Rochdale manager John Coleman told 大象传媒 Radio Manchester:

"I think we deserved a replay. Morecambe came out of the traps well and deservedly took the lead.

"They could have gone 2-0 up but our keeper has made a brilliant save.

"We did well to respond to that, and after that I thought we were fantastic.

"We kept on peppering their goal. Eventually it was going to come and it did. I don't think anyone can begrudge us a draw out of the game."
