Southport have completed loan deals for Rochdale defender Neill Byrne and Huddersfield midfielder Scott Kay.

Byrne, 19, has made four appearances since , external and recently had a loan spell at Barrow.

"Neill is a talented young defender. He comes with very good recommendations and he will get vital experience," Watson told the

Ex-Manchester City trainee Kay, 23, has not played a first-team game for Town.

He spent last season at Macclesfield, who released him following their relegation from the Football League.

Watson added: "I have tracked Scott for some time. He is a midfielder who will add strength and competition to the centre of the park."
