Kevin-Prince Boateng ruled out of Ghana play-off
Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng will miss Tuesday's World Cup play-off first leg against Egypt in Kumasi after suffering a knee injury.
The 26-year-old picked up the problem playing for German club Schalke during a Bundesliga match on Saturday.
And tests in Germany have revealed that Boateng must undergo treatment on his left knee.
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has decided not to call up a replacement in his squad.
The second leg of the play-off, which decides who qualifies for next year's finals in Brazil, is set to take place in Cairo on 19 November.
However, Ghana have requested a change of venue because of security fears following the latest violence in the Egyptian capital.
