Birmingham City have still not given up on persuading keeper Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph to stay at St Andrew's.

The 27-year-old was expected to move on this summer after the end of his contract, but Blues are in "continuing negotiations" with Randolph.

Manager Gary Rowett also hopes to sign loanees Lloyd Dyer, Rob Kiernan, Robert Tesche and Diego Fabbrini.

The quartet have returned to their parent clubs after the season's end.

But Rowett hopes Watford winger Dyer, 32, and midfielder Fabbrini, 24, Wigan Athletic defender Kiernan, 24, and Nottingham Forest midfielder Tesche, 27, can be persuaded to sign on a more permanent basis.

After meeting his squad at the Wast Hills training ground on Monday, Rowett has also offered new contracts to several out-of-contract squad players.

Defender Jonathan Spector, 29, winger Koby Arthur, 19, and keeper Nick Townsend, 20, have both been offered a two-year deal, with a year's option.

Academy youngsters Viv Solomon-Otabor, Liam Truslove and Connal Trueman have signed one-year deals, while 20-year-old midfielder Charlee Adams has been offered a one-year contract, with a year's option.

Meanwhile, Blues have released eight players, including striker Nikola Zigic, who was first let go a year ago, but then returned to the club on a short-team deal in January, on reduced terms.

They have also opted not to take up the year's option on the contract of Scottish defender Gavin Gunning, who missed almost the entire season through injury.

Long-serving keeper Colin Doyle, who had a spell as first choice in City's Premier League days, striker Matt Green, midfielders Callum Reilly and Olly Lee and defender Will Packwood have also been released, along with Kamal Guthmy, who joined Blues on a six-month deal in January.
