Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass can be a "terrific asset" for the club after returning from almost 16 months out, according to boss Steve Bruce.

The Scotland international made his first appearance since suffering a serious knee injury in August 2014 in Tuesday's 4-1 League Cup quarter-final defeat by Manchester City.

"The big thing for us was the return of Robert Snodgrass.

"It's a huge boost for everybody," Bruce told 大象传媒 Radio Humberside.

"It's good to see him because he's a very, very good player and if we can get him up to speed then he can be a terrific asset for us."

Meanwhile, Bruce has injury doubts in defence ahead of Saturday's trip to Leeds United.

The Tigers are currently fourth in the Championship, three points behind leaders Brighton.

"Curtis Davies would have played, but he has an illness and I think Saturday might come too soon for Michael Dawson. We'll see what we've got on Friday," Bruce said.
