Jayden Stockley scored twice as Exeter came from behind to beat Leyton Orient, who missed two penalties.
Ollie Palmer opened the scoring for the O's after 28 seconds when he chested home Jobi McAnuff's cross, but Stockley levelled with a close-range header.
Tom Nichols converted an Alex Nicholls centre to put the Grecians ahead before Stockley stabbed home their third.
The visitors' Danny Butterfield gave away two late penalties but Jay Simpson failed to convert either attempt.
His first effort rattled the post, while Bobby Olejnik produced a fine save down to his right to keep out his second spot-kick.
Leyton Orient manager Ian Hendon told 大象传媒 Radio London:
"We started brightly, got in front, and defensively we were shocking.
"You'll have to ask the boys to explain what they're doing when those balls are going in the box.
"We're doing the right stuff but the players have to take responsibility, I'm not going to name names, but the players have to take responsibility when they go on the pitch simple as that."
