Cardiff City are targeting Watford captain Troy Deeney as they look to boost their attack for the Premier League campaign.
Manager Neil Warnock wants to add depth up front, with Denmark Under-21 international Kenneth Zohore battling Gary Madine and Danny Ward for the centre-forward spot.
Deeney, 30, has 105 goals in 309 league games since joining Watford in 2010.
Warnock also wants to re-sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan.
The transfer window for incoming deals closes on 9 August.
