Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Salford City
National League promotion hopefuls Salford City earned an FA Cup first round replay after holding League One side Shrewsbury Town to a draw.
Graham Alexander's side levelled through Adam Rooney moments after falling behind to Ollie Norburn's strike for the hosts midway through the first half.
Norburn fired through a congested Salford penalty area after ex-Shrewsbury keeper Chris Neal failed to fully clear a Fejiri Okenabirhie cross from the left.
But Salford were level almost immediately after Danny Whitehead had initially seen his close-range effort fantastically saved by home keeper Steve Arnold.
His disappointment was short-lived as he tapped a short corner to Dennis Politic whose near-post cross found striker Rooney to head in his 13th goal in all competitions this season.
Neither side could find a winner in the second half though, despite Shrewsbury striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway having a near-post header smothered by Neal from close range towards the end.
Rory Gaffney had Salford's best chance to go in front shortly after half-time, but he was unable to direct a finish from around the six-yard box on target after neat work from Danny Lloyd.
Salford, currently third in the National League and unbeaten in 19 games in all competitions, will look to emulate their run to the second round in 2015 when they go again in the replay.
