Grimsby Town 0-2 Macclesfield Town
Macclesfield continued their League Two revival under Sol Campbell with a deserved victory at Grimsby.
Tyrone Marsh and Scott Wilson scored in the space of seven first-half minutes for the Silkmen, who are now three points from safety.
Chances were few and between in the opening stages, but Macclesfield eventually took the lead when Marsh redirected a free-kick past James McKeown in the 26th minute.
A matter of minutes later, substitute Mitchell Rose - on for the injured Harry Clifton - gift-wrapped the visitors a second goal, leaving Grimsby with it all to do.
He was easily dispossessed by Wilson on the edge of the area and the latter made no mistake with a cool finish beneath McKeown.
Upon the restart, the hosts had plenty of the possession without creating much in the final third.
Sebastian Ring and Wes Thomas both fired wide, while McKeown was forced into making a five save from Marsh at the other end.
Kieran O'Hara expertly denied Thomas late on and Macclesfield ultimately saw out the game to land three crucial points.
