Shrewsbury sign Stefan Payne, Jonathan Mitchell & Tyrese Campbell
League One strugglers Shrewsbury Town have made three deadline day loan signings to take new boss Sam Ricketts' total of January recruits to 10.
Town have re-signed Bristol Rovers' Stefan Payne, 27, who only left in August, and brought in Tyrese Campbell, 19, from Midlands neighbours Stoke.
They have also brought in Derby keeper Jonathan Mitchell, 24, all three on loans until the end of the season.
Campbell's signing comes after scoring twice against Town in the FA Cup.
He has made 10 first-team appearances for the Potters, having started twice in successive games in the Championship since scoring his first goals for the club in the 3-2 third round replay defeat by Ricketts' Town.
Payne, 27, previously had 18 months at Shrewsbury before signing for fellow League One side Rovers last summer.
But, after scoring 14 goals in Town's promotion near miss last term, he has only netted twice this season.
Payne has exchanged one club in League One relegation trouble for another. Shrewsbury are 19th, just two points above Rovers, in 23rd.
Mitchell, the second keeper to sign for Shrewsbury in this window among their 10 signings, has played five games in cup competitions for the Rams, but has yet to make a league appearance.
He will compete with Steve Arnold and Reice Charles-Cook following the early January return of Joel Coleman to Huddersfield Town.
Manager Sam Ricketts told 大象传媒 Shropshire: "Jonathan Mitchell's come in to reinforce the goalkeeping situation, and to make sure we've got really good competition for places.
"Stef obviously did very well here last year. We're delighted to get him back - for his personality, his work ethic and, of course, his goals.
"Tyrese is a player we have been after for a number of weeks. Of course, we got drawn against Stoke, he came on and set their goal up and in the replay he scored two against us - I was thinking no way is he going to sign now. But he's one we kept pursuing."
Shrewsbury did have one player go in the other direction as striker Lee Angol moved on loan to League Two leaders Lincoln City until the end of the season.
