Tom Heaton: Aston Villa sign goalkeeper from Burnley for 拢8m
Aston Villa have signed 33-year-old Burnley and England goalkeeper Tom Heaton for 拢8m - their 11th signing of the summer.
Heaton made 19 Premier League appearances last season as Burnley avoided relegation.
Last week Villa confirmed the arrivals of Egypt international winger Trezeguet for 拢8.75m and Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz for 拢15m.
Heaton's arrival takes Villa's summer spending beyond 拢110m.
He arrived at Burnley in 2013 after being released by Bristol City and has played 200 times for the Clarets.
Heaton won the first of his three England caps against Australia in May 2016 and was in the Euro 2016 squad.
Villa head coach Dean Smith said: "He's done fantastically well for Burnley over the past few years and his experience and knowledge of the Premier League will be a major asset to us this season."
Since winning promotion to the Premier League in May, Villa have also signed Club Bruges forward Wesley for 拢22m; defenders Ezri Konsa, 21, from Brentford for 拢12m, Bjorn Engels, 24, for 拢9m from Reims, Tyrone Mings, 26, from Bournemouth for 拢20m, Kortney Hause from Wolves for 拢3m and Matt Targett from Southampton for 拢15m. Villa also spent 拢8m on winger Anwar El Ghazi from Lille and signed midfielder Jota from Birmingham in a swap deal.
Smith's side start their Premier League season away at Tottenham on 10 August.
