Mansfield Town 0-0 Stevenage

  • Published

Mansfield are still looking for their first home win of the season following a goalless draw with Stevenage.

The home side enjoyed plenty of possession throughout but were unable to apply the killer touch, with Alex MacDonald, Danny Rose and Otis Khan all going close.

And they knew it was not going to be their day when Luther James-Wildin kept them out late on with a stunning goal-line clearance.

MacDonald screwed a shot wide before Rose headed straight at goalkeeper Paul Farman as Mansfield started well.

Home keeper Conrad Logan spread himself brilliantly to keep Paul Taylor out in the 12th minute, before Ryan Sweeney was denied by the linesman's flag after 36 minutes.

Mal Benning fired well wide as Stags started the second half strongly. Khan and Rose had goal-bound shots blocked before Stevenage scrambled the ball to safety.

Farman pulled off a brilliant one-handed reflex save to deny Rose after 77 minutes.

And MacDonald was then denied by a stunning clearance by James Wildin with two minutes to go.
