Swindon Town 1-1 Bradford City

  • Published

Shay McCartan's 89th-minute free-kick rescued a point for Bradford in a draw at 10-man League Two leaders Swindon.

Jerry Yates' penalty put Swindon 1-0 up after 11 minutes, but Bradford struck in the dying minutes as McCartan bent a free-kick into the back of the net.

Jordan Lyden was then sent off in second-half stoppage time to compound a disappointing last few minutes for the hosts.

In a game with few chances, Swindon could have been in front three minutes earlier had Kaiyne Woolery not struck wide from range.

Bradford rarely threatened prior to their goal, but came close midway through the first half as makeshift centre back Anthony Grant lost the ball to Chris Taylor, who went on a brief run before curling just past the far post from the edge of the box.

Anthony O'Connor flick an effort off the post following a corner midway through the first half and Matt Palmer struck over the bar around 20 minutes from time.
