Nathaniel MG Cup final: Connah's Quay Nomads too strong for STM Sports
Connah's Quay were too strong for Cymru South side STM Sports in the Nathaniel MG Cup final at Newtown.
Cardiff-based STM had more than held their own until Michael Wilde's header gave Nomads the lead on 29 minutes.
Wilde doubled their lead with another header, this time from Kris Owens' cross before the interval.
Jamie Insall made it 3-0 in the opening minute of the second half with a fine volley as Nomads won the competition for the first time since 1996.
Victory for Andy Morrison's side secures their spot in next season's Scottish Challenge Cup.
STM Sports had beaten two Cymru Premier sides in their run to the final in their first season in the competition.
Connah's Quay Nomads manager Andy Morrison told S4C's Sgorio: "It's a cup final so it's never going to be easy and they started really well.
"But we were always in control and some really clever set plays changed the direction of the game.
"We were very bright and we were very clever and in the end it could have been a lot more but great credit to them. I thought they were magnificent."
