Championship: Swansea and Luton handed 拢5,000 Football Association fine for melee

Swansea City and Luton Town have each been fined 拢5,000 after being found guilty of misconduct by the Football Association.

The disciplinary charge followed an 83rd-minute melee in their Championship match on 27 June.

Swansea's Jordon Garrick was sent off for raising a hand to an opponent's face during the incident.

The FA said both clubs admitted failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

They also said: "Both Luton Town FC and Swansea City FC respectively accepted and unsuccessfully contested the standard penalty."

Luton won the game 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

Speaking after the match, Swansea head coach Steve Cooper said: "I thought the referee [Andy Woolmer] caused the melee, but I don't want my comment on the referee to hide the fact that Jordon has done something that is a clear red."
