Raith Rovers eased to victory in their first Scottish Championship game in three years as Arbroath were blown away before the break.
Dan Armstrong, Reghan Tumilty and a Regan Hendry penalty in 13 first-half minutes gave the newly-promoted Fifers an unassailable lead.
Arbroath defender Thomas O'Brien was sent off a minute from time as his handball earned a second booking.
But Hendry had the resulting spot-kick saved by goalkeeper Derek Gaston.
Raith assistant manager Paul Smith: "We thoroughly deserved the win and it's great to see the goals spread across the team."
Arbroath assistant manager Iain Campbell: "We fell below our standards today. I'm immensely disappointed at the result, that performance is not Arbroath."
