FA Cup: Leyton Orient 1-2 Newport County highlights

Jamie Devitt's stunning long-range strike sent knockout specialists Newport County into round two of the FA Cup.

Newport have beaten the likes of Leicester City, Leeds and Middlesbrough in the FA Cup over the last three seasons.

Mike Flynn's team began what they hope will be another lengthy cup run thanks to Devitt's memorable goal.

Ashley Baker had put Newport ahead only for Hector Kyprianou to level.

Newport's opener came after Orient keeper Lawrence Vigoroux ventured out of his area to intercept a pass only to present possession to Baker.

The Exiles wing-back took his chance in style, looping a shot into the empty net from 40 yards to claim his first senior goal.

The lead lasted only four minutes, as Newport made a mess of clearing a corner and 19-year-old Kyprianou volleyed in the first goal of his senior career.

On-loan Blackpool midfielder Devitt then hit the post before his brilliant winner.

Newport manager Mike Flynn:

"I thought we were excellent from start to finish. It was an unbelievable away performance against a Leyton Orient team who have been in good form and can cause any team problems on their day.

"I thought we were by far the better team if I am honest, but they are always dangerous. We need to start killing teams off. I am going to keep saying it and saying it.

"Is the cup the priority? No. But I will never disrespect the cup because I love the cup and I know what it means to this club."
