Luton Town have signed experienced striker Cameron Jerome from League One MK Dons on a free transfer.

The former Cardiff, Birmingham and Norwich forward, 34, will join the Championship side on 1 July when his current contract expires.

The Hatters have also recruited former Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa midfielder Henri Lansbury.

Lansbury, 30, will join from fellow Championship side Bristol City when his contract expires at the end of June.

Lansbury came through the ranks at Arsenal but only played eight senior games and had loan spells at Scunthorpe, Watford, Norwich and West Ham before a five-year spell at Forest, where he played alongside Hatters first-team coach Chris Cohen.

Villa paid £2.75m for his services in January 2017 but Lansbury struggled for regular first-team games and moved to Bristol City in January, playing 16 games.

Jerome and Lansbury become Luton's fourth and fifth summer signings after Wycombe midfielder Fred Onyedinma, Hull City defender Reece Burke and Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell.

Luton manager Nathan Jones said Jerome was "nailed on" to join another club but the Hatters "managed to turn him".

"Cameron ticks so many boxes for us. He can do a bit of everything, so it's a real logical one," said Jones.

"We wanted to bring in another target man, for competition for Elijah Adebayo, but also to provide something a little bit different as well."

Jones added that Lansbury came "very well recommended" by former team-mate Cohen and provides "real know-how at the level, but also that real top-end quality".

"He's a fantastic midfield player, has had a wonderful career, been promoted from the division more than once, has played for some massive clubs and has real good pedigree," he said.
