Tranmere Rovers 1-0 Crawley Town

Tranmere got their second win in four days with a narrow 1-0 victory over struggling Crawley at Prenton Park.

Jordan Turnbull's third goal of the season ensured Micky Mellon's side keep their slim play-off hopes alive while Crawley remain in the relegation places.

The visitors had the best opportunity to open the scoring in a first half devoid of goalmouth action when Ashley Nadesan forced a good save from Rovers keeper Joe Murphy.

And the Red Devils continued to look the more dangerous after the break as Dom Telford and Jack Powell both forced saves from Murphy.

But it was the home side who opened the scoring on 68 minutes when Turnbull fired home a left-footed effort from 12 yards out.

Crawley were handed a lifeline with 10 minutes remaining when Joe Lynch was brought down in the box, only for Telford to blast his spot-kick over the bar.

Tranmere could have doubled their lead and made the game safe moments later but Turnbull's header crashed against the crossbar.
