Wrexham 3-1 Wealdstone: Hosts keep up pressure at top of National League

Wrexham kept up the pressure at the top of the National League table with victory over Wealdstone.

Wrexham's top goalscorer Paul Mullin headed them ahead five minutes before half-time but striker Tarryn Allarakhia drew Wealdstone level on 50 minutes.

The hosts needed just four minutes to restore their lead, substitute Jacob Mendy scoring against his former club.

Wealdstone were reduced to 10 men when Max Kretzschmar was shown a second yellow before Sam Dalby made it 3-1.

Wrexham had briefly gone to the top of the table but Notts County reclaimed first place with victory over Chesterfield in Saturday's late game.

Wrexham's Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were not in attendance, but actor Will Ferrell surprised fans with an appearance at the Racecourse.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson told 大象传媒 Sport Wales: "It's always difficult after a high profile cup game like we had on Tuesday... which made today so important for us.

"In the first half we were a little bit frantic in our decision making but in the second half we were superb.

"I was pleased for Jacob [Mendy] on his return back, it's a fantastic goal from him and for Sam too, a great contribution to seal the deal."
