Accrington Stanley eased to an opening-day victory in a controlled performance against visiting Newport County.
Jack Nolan had already stung the hands of Nick Townsend before beating the Exiles goalkeeper from close range after a chip through by Tommy Leigh.
Shaun Whalley doubled the lead from a Seb Quirk cross, before Korede Adedoyin struck a third in time added on.
There was still time for Will Evans to hit the post, but it would only have been a small consolation for County.
Newport County manager Graham Coughlan said: "I thought we were very good, the chances we created - we created enough to win two games of football.
"Where my frustrations lie is in three soft goals, we gave away three soft goals and couldn't hit the back of the net ourselves, so I'm very frustrated, very annoyed but I thought there was a lot of good stuff from us today.
"Tidy up at the back, defend the back stick better and take your chances, and that's the story of the game really."
