Exeter City winger Demetri Mitchell could miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee.
The 26-year-old damaged an anterior cruciate ligament in the 3-2 Carabao Cup fourth-round loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
The ex-Manchester United player, who was in impressive form this season, said on social media that he would be out for between six and nine months.
"We'll be back don't worry," he , formerly Twitter.
Mitchell has scored five times in 33 appearances since joining the club in January from Scottish side Hibernian.
He scored City's winner as they beat Premier League side Luton Town in the third round of the Carabao Cup last month.
Mitchell was forced off against Boro after 34 minutes of the tie after what seemed an innocuous coming together with an opponent.
He is the latest Exeter attacker to suffer an injury this season, with forwards Admiral Muskwe, James Scott and Jack Aitchison all missing action already.
