Khaled El-Ahmad: Barnsley chief executive to join Minnesota United in 2024
Barnsley chief executive Khaled El-Ahmad will step down at the end of the season to join Major League Soccer side Minnesota United.
El-Ahmad joined from City Football Group in 2021, having worked previously worked in the US with New York City FC.
He is set to leave the Tykes at the end of his contract with the League One club.
The club said he will remain in post until the summer, or when a "suitable replacement" is found.
"The club wishes Mr El-Ahmad all the best for the future and thanks him for his service," Barnsley added.
"The search for a new CEO has been in motion for the last few months, alongside preparation for the January transfer window, and the club are in the process of identifying a suitable replacement to continue to drive forward on and off the pitch."
