Sam Kerr: Injured striker pulls out of Australia squad for friendlies against Canada
Chelsea striker Sam Kerr has pulled out of Australia's upcoming two friendlies against Canada with a foot injury.
The 30-year-old scored once on Sunday as Chelsea continued their unbeaten start in the Women's Super League (WSL) with a 5-2 home victory over Leicester City.
It followed her hat-trick against Paris FC in the Women's Champions League.
Following that game Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said she was only playing at 80%.
"We can today confirm that Sam Kerr will not feature in Australia's forthcoming international fixtures and will remain with the club for treatment on a foot injury," Chelsea said.
Australia are playing two friendlies in Canada. The first, on Saturday, is at Starlight Stadium in Langford and the second, on Wednesday, is at BC Place in Vancouver.
Kerr injured her calf during the Women's World Cup in the summer and missed the group stage of the tournament.
