Lincoln City striker Tyler Walker could miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery, says Imps boss Michael Skubala.

The 27-year-old made just six appearances on his return to Lincoln this season before suffering a hamstring injury in August.

Walker was initially ruled out for more than eight weeks, but Skubala says he suffered a recurrence of the problem.

"If we're honest, we might not see him again this season," Skubala said.

"I think if we see him again this season that will be really successful.

"He has seen a specialist and has now had an operation. The medical team are working really hard."

Skubala, who took charge of the League One side in mid-November, says former Nottingham Forest and Coventry City forward Walker had been close to making his return before the potentially season-ending setback.

Walker, who scored 16 goals during a loan spell at Lincoln in the 2019-20, had failed to score after returning on a two-year deal in the summer.

"We just have to support him through this tough time," Skubala told 大象传媒 Radio Lincolnshire.
