Leyton Orient have signed Welsh defender Brandon Cooper on a permanent deal from Swansea.

After spending the first half of the season on loan, Cooper - 24 last Sunday - has signed until the end of the 2025/26 season for an undisclosed fee.

Cooper has played 17 games for the O's, with 13 coming in League One.

The centre-back said: "There are lots of attractive things about the club. I loved my time here, and it was a no-brainer for me to come back."

The move ends Cooper's 18-year association with Swansea, during which he made 11 senior appearances, though he had loan spells with Yeovil, Newport, Swindon and Forest Green before joining Orient.

He "Everything about the club made me want to come back. Playing at the stadium in front of the fans who fill out the ground almost every week and the style of play suits me well."

Head coach Richie Wellens said he was "really happy" to have secured Cooper's signature on a permanent deal.

"He came in and was fantastic for the first few months of the season," he added. "We think that there is real room for development in him, and I think he can go on to become a really good player for the club."
