Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has been given a three-game touchline ban and fined by the Football Association.

It follows the 43-year-old being dismissed by referee Alex Chilowicz in the 81st minute of last month's 1-0 home win over Bolton.

He was punished for stopping a Trotters player from taking a quick throw-in.

Wellens admitted a charge of improper conduct and also directly watching the remainder of the match, rather than returning to the home dressing room.

An independent Regulatory Committee fined him 拢2,000 in addition to imposing the touchline ban following a hearing.

Orient are unbeaten in six League One games and sit 10th after conceding one goal during that run.

They host Carlisle on Saturday before trips to Port Vale on Tuesday and Barnsley on 10 February.
