FA Cup 2024: Leicester City beat Bournemouth in extra time to progress to quarter-finals

Leicester City are again "daring to dream" of FA Cup glory after getting past Premier League side Bournemouth, says Foxes defender Conor Coady.

Abdul Fatawu's extra-time goal fired the Championship leaders into the quarter-finals for the first time since they won the competition in 2021.

"This club knows more than anyone how good this competition is," Coady told 大象传媒 Radio Leicester.

"It's a massive one for all of us and we keep getting excited by it."

Leicester's FA Cup final win against Chelsea three years ago was the first time the East Midlands club had lifted the trophy, having lost on all four of their previous final appearances.

And while Leicester are now a second-tier club looking to challenge for the cup, Coady says they will "without a doubt" believe they are capable of doing so.

"100% you dare to dream," he said.

"Firstly we have just come in and said 'let's go again'. It's one game to go before we hit Wembley and we are in a semi-final.

"We will see who we get, we will see what we do and we will prepare right."

While Leicester have put themselves in Wednesday's draw by upstaging a top-flight side away from home, the win on the south coast also ended a losing run for the Foxes.

Defeats by Middlesbrough and second-placed Leeds United saw Leicester's lead in the Championship cut from 12 points to six in a week.

Enzo Maresca's Foxes next host relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

"This game was important to bounce back from two losses," Coady said.

"I think it was big, we were all excited for the game, all the lads put in a hell of a shift and we played really well, but it was important to bounce back because losing two on the spin isn't something we wanted to do - even though we played well in certain areas.

"We will make sure we prepare right for the weekend, because it's a huge game and we all understand that - supporters and players as well."
