Aaron Ramsey: Cardiff City man to step up injury recovery and says there is an expectation on Wales
Aaron Ramsey expects to step up his return from injury next week.
Ramsey, 33, has not featured for Cardiff City since mid-February due to a calf issue.
And while he will miss Wales' Euro 2024 play-off matches this month, Ramsey hopes to resume training on the grass during the international break.
"Hopefully I'll be back out on the grass next week," Ramsey said of his injury.
"I'm optimistic and hopefully I'll get back on that pitch as soon as possible."
Wales host Finland at Cardiff City Stadium in their play-off semi-final on 21 March.
Should Rob Page's men emerge victorious in that encounter, they will face either Poland or Estonia in the final five days later for a place at this summer's tournament in Germany.
And Ramsey - who has featured in three major tournaments for his country - believes there is an expectation on Wales to qualify for the biggest competitions in the future.
"These play-off games at home are vital," he told Sky Sports.
"We've had so much success of late over the last four tournaments.
"The expectation is on us now to keep qualifying for these tournaments.
"We have a great opportunity. We know it's not going to be easy, but, at home, in front of the Red Wall we feel quietly confident that we can progress."
