York have failed to win a game since the appointment of Adam Hinshelwood (left) by co-chairs Matthew (right) and Julie-Anne Uggla

York City will reimburse fans who travelled to watch their team lose 6-1 at Altrincham on Tuesday.

Co-chairs Matt and Julie-Anne Uggla they will be returning the price of tickets.

The defeat leaves the former Football League club three points adrift of safety in the National League.

The statement said: "We are beyond disappointed with tonight's result and will be reimbursing the away fans for their tickets.

"We have genuinely tried to put all the tools needed to build a successful team, from recruitment, to housing, nutrition, and better training facilities.

"We have obviously got something wrong and will not stop trying until we it get right."

The billionaire Ugglas, who are mother and son, took control of the club last year and sacked manager Neal Ardley in February after just six months in charge, following a run of four winless matches.

His successor Adam Hinshelwood has fared no better so far, losing three and drawing one of his four games in charge.
