Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has suffered a new injury setback that will keep him out of action for up to five weeks.
The 25-year-old was substituted at half-time of last weekend鈥檚 Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, where he had started for the third consecutive match this season.
He has injured a hamstring, which means he will miss the next four to five weeks and the start of United鈥檚 Europa League campaign next month.
In a statement on social media, Mount said: "During the last game I picked up a minor muscle injury.
"I've had it checked and it looks like I'll be out for a few games. Leading up to and during pre-season, I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt re-energised, sharp and ready.
"I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too. I will do everything possible to be back in the best shape and help the team."
Mount moved to Old Trafford from his boyhood club Chelsea in a 拢60m deal last summer but his first campaign was hampered by injuries, restricting him to just 14 Premier League appearances.
