Wrexham boss Parkinson happy with North America tour schedule
Manager Phil Parkinson is happy with Wrexham鈥檚 North American tour schedule as they prepare for a first League One campaign in 19 years.
Wrexham visited the United States last year with a four game tour which included matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.
Parkinson鈥檚 side returned from last year鈥檚 trip only a few days before the opening day of the League Two campaign but will have more time to prepare for this season鈥檚 opener against Wycombe Wanderers on 10 August.
鈥淭he key factors are that we鈥檙e back two weeks before the season starts,鈥 Parkinson told 大象传媒 Sport Wales.
鈥淚t enables us to get that jet lag out of the lads鈥 legs.
鈥淎nd obviously when we鈥檙e over there the travelling is restricted because we鈥檙e on the West coast for the whole trip.鈥
Wrexham proved to be a big hit on last year鈥檚 US summer tour and have huge support in North America thanks to Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and the documentary series 'Welcome to Wrexham'.
This year Wrexham will begin in the United States against Bournemouth in Santa Barbara on 20 July, and remain in California to face a second Premier League side in Chelsea four days later in Santa Clara.
The Welsh club will then travel to Canada for the final game of the tour, in Reynolds' home city of Vancouver, against Major League Soccer (MLS) side Whitecaps.
鈥淥bviously everybody is really looking forward to getting out there,鈥 Parkinson added.
鈥淲e had an amazing experience last year, we really did, it was incredible,
鈥淚t鈥檚 going to be great getting out there again.鈥
