West Ham sign Foderingham on two-year deal
West Ham have signed Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham on a two-year contract.
Foderingham will officially join the Hammers on 1 July when his contract at Bramall Lane expires.
The 33-year-old made 30 appearances for Sheffield United, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
"I've been fortunate to play for teams with a real strong fanbase, a fanbase that's passionate about their club - and West Ham are no different," Foderingham said.
"The club has gone from strength to strength and I think I'm joining at a very, very good time. It's a positive time for the club.
鈥淚t feels brilliant to be a Hammer!鈥
Foderingham leaves Sheffield United after four seasons and has previously had permanent spells with Rangers, Swindon, Crystal Palace and Fulham.
He is West Ham's second signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui following the arrival of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.
鈥淲e鈥檙e really pleased to add a goalkeeper of Wes鈥 experience to our first team goalkeeping unit," technical director Tim Steidten said.
鈥淗e鈥檚 had an esteemed career to date, including playing at the very highest level in the Premier League last year for Sheffield United 鈥 and I鈥檓 sure that under the guidance of [goalkeeping coach] Xavi Valero, both Alphonse [Areola] and Lukasz [Fabianski] will benefit greatly from having another established keeper working alongside them on a daily basis.鈥
