Striker Kone extends Wycombe contract
Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone has signed a contract extension with the League One leaders.
The 21-year-old joined the Chairboys from non-league club Athletic Newham in January following a trial lasting several months.
He scored four goals last season, but already has 10 in the current campaign, including a hat-trick against Peterborough United.
"Rich has had a superb start to life as a professional footballer this year and he has huge potential to kick on and have a really successful career in the game," said boss Matt Broomfield.
"It鈥檚 been a long road from identifying Rich as a really exciting potential signing a couple of years ago to bringing him here in January, and credit has to go to everyone who鈥檚 helped develop him on the training pitch, improve his fitness and physicality, and also help him settle and integrate into life in professional football."
The exact length of Kone's new deal has not been disclosed.
Wycombe are two points clear of Birmingham City at the top of the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Lincoln City.
