AFC Wimbledon have signed striker Matty Stevens on a two-year deal following his release from Forest Green Rovers.

The 26-year-old scored 50 goals in 133 matches for the Gloucestershire club, including 27 in their 2021-22 League Two title-winning season.

Stevens began his senior career at Barnet before moving to Peterborough United in 2016 and then on to Forest Green three years later.

"This is a big move for me, this club is massive – the history behind it and the support speaks for itself," he told the

"I was told about the style of play and it suits me down to the ground. As long as I can do what is required off the ball, I’m confident I can score plenty of goals here."

Wimbledon finished 10th in League Two this season, missing out on a play-off place by five points, while Rovers finished bottom and were relegated to the National League.
