Watford have made their 10th signing of the summer transfer window by bringing in defender Kevin Keben from French top flight side Toulouse.

The 20-year-old Cameroon Under-23 international has joined the early Championship pacesetters for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

He will have to sit out his first month at Vicarage Road as he is still recovering from a knee injury.

"He's got a small knee issue," Watford head coach Tom Cleverley said. "So he won't be available straight away, but we expect him to be available towards the end of the month/start of October.

"He's a very exciting young defender. He brings on the ball qualities and has the real pace in that backline that we've been looking for."

After coming through the youth set-up at Toulouse, he has made 21 first-team appearances, including eight in Ligue 1 last season, as well as two in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, striker Vakoun Bayo has joined The Hornets' sister club Udinese for an undisclosed fee but will remain at Vicarage Road for the remainder of the season on loan.

Watford are second in the Championship, level on points with Sunderland, having won all their five league and cup games this season, including three clean sheets.
