Wrexham have signed Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt for an undisclosed fee.

Brunt, 23, has agreed a three-year deal at the Stok Racecourse having spent last season on loan at Mansfield Town.

Brunt played 40 games in 2023-24 as the Stags were promoted from League Two alongside Wrexham.

鈥淚鈥檓 over the moon to get the deal signed and over the line and I can't wait to get going鈥 Brunt said.

鈥淓veryone knows the story behind Wrexham. It's a club with a great history and big ambitions for where it wants to go, so to join that journey is a good feeling.鈥

Brunt came through Aston Villa鈥檚 academy before moving to Leicester in 2021.

The Birmingham-born centre-back played four times for Leicester, twice as a substitute in the Premier League and twice in the FA Cup.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson described Brunt as "a very good young player".

"He did exceptionally well in his first full season at Mansfield and he will be a player that has a lot of development in him," Parkinson added.

"I believe he will be a great acquisition for us.鈥

Mansfield boss Nigel Clough revealed last month that they had seen an offer for Brunt turned down by Leicester, but said he remained their top summer transfer target.

Brunt becomes Wrexham鈥檚 second addition of the close season, after they signed goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo on a permanent deal last month following his release by Arsenal.
