Genoa have been unable to reach a cut-price agreement to sign Tottenham defender Djed Spence.
The Italian club were keen to make Spence's loan spell permanent but have been unable to agree a fee below the 拢8.5m option to buy included in his contract last season.
Spence had been open to a move back to Serie A after impressing during his 16 appearances in the division.
However, alternative moves could be sought after a month-long negotiation failed to see a move materialise. Genoa would revisit the opportunity if the price comes down at a later date.
