Championship side Burnley have signed defender Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

Englishman Worrall, 27, made 226 appearances for hometown club Forest, but spent the second half of last season on loan at Turkish side Besiktas.

Burnley have won both their first two games back in the Championship following relegation from the top flight last season.

鈥淚鈥檓 very happy to be a Burnley player, I can鈥檛 wait to be involved and help get them back to the Premier League," said Worrall.

鈥淚t felt like home as soon as I walked through the door and that鈥檚 what I want it to be."

Worrall had spent his entire senior career at Nottingham Forest, aside from short loan stints at Dagenham & Redbridge and Rangers, as well as Besiktas.

He looks set to replace centre-back Ameen Al-Dakhil - who is likely to move to Germany - at Turf Moor, with Stuttgart reportedly interested in the Belgium international.

Meanwhile, fellow Burnley defender Dara O'Shea is attracting interest from Premier League sides Wolves and Brentford, with the 25-year-old eager to switch to Wolves.
