Norwich sign ex-Bournemouth forward Marcondes
Norwich City have signed former Brentford and Bournemouth forward Emiliano Marcondes on a one-year contract with the option of an extra year.
The 29-year-old was a free agent having left Bournemouth in the summer following a loan spell at Hibernian.
The Canaries need reinforcements after losing Ashley Barnes, Onel Hernandez and Christian Fassnacht because of injuries.
"He gives us other options up front," boss Johannes Hoff Thorup told 大象传媒 Radio Norfolk. "He can play as a 9, he can play as a 10, he can play a little bit on the left side."
"He has great intensity, a good pressing player, he loves to be involved, loves to be on the ball, wants to find good positions in the box to get in and score goals."
The Dane first came to England when he joined Brentford in 2018 and later scored one of the goals in a 2-0 win over Swansea City which helped the west London club win promotion to the Premier League.
Bournemouth signed him on a three-year deal following the expiry of his contract that summer, but he only played 24 games in three years for the Cherries, scoring seven goals.
