Australia international Riley McGree has signed a new four-year contract with Middlesbrough.
The 25-year-old had one year left on his old deal and after becoming an integral part of Michael Carrick's team, McGree has committed his future to the Riverside Stadium.
McGree has played 82 games in two-and-a-half seasons for Boro and has also won 25 caps for his country.
Last season was disrupted by two serious injuries meaning he missed Australia's run to the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup in January and February.
McGree is with the Boro squad in their summer training camp in Portugal and Carrick "Riley is an important part of our squad. He's a a good lad and he has a great attitude.
"We're all about building things here, and this is further demonstration of that."
