Carlisle sign defender Davies from Dundalk

Carlisle have signed former Brighton and Crawley defender Archie Davies for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal from League of Ireland side Dundalk.

Davies, who was in his second season at Dundalk, becomes the Cumbrians鈥 seventh new arrival of the summer.

The 25-year-old was on Crystal Palace鈥檚 books as a youngster, but made his senior debut for Brighton in the EFL Cup in 2019.

He spent two years with Crawley and also featured for National League side Aldershot Town prior to moving across the Irish Sea.

"He鈥檚 a player who is highly sought after. There were a lot of clubs after him so I鈥檓 delighted he鈥檚 chosen to come to us,鈥 Carlisle boss Paul Simpson told the
