Having sealed her place as Wales' record goalscorer and most-capped player, Jess Fishlock will turn her talents to presenting in a new 大象传媒 Radio Wales documentary charting the incredible growth of women鈥檚 football in Wales.

Iconic: The Rise of the Women in Red is a three-part series that will air on 大象传媒 Radio Wales and 大象传媒 Sounds in October and cover everything from hand-me-downs to heroes of the Welsh game.

The ground-breaking series will look into the evolution of women鈥檚 football, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a sporting phenomenon.

With exclusive access to Welsh football's governing body - the Football Association of Wales (FAW) - the series features in-depth interviews with prominent figures in the sport, including Fishlock's Wales team-mates Sophie Ingle and Angharad James.

"I'm really excited that our story's finally getting told and people can see how far this game has gone, but also what has been sacrificed to get us to where we are right now in the women's game," Fishlock says.

The series delves into the early days of women鈥檚 football, when players wore hand-me-down kits from men鈥檚 teams and played in front of modest crowds.

It tells of the struggles of those who paved the way for the current generation of female footballers, to the present day where thousands of supporters flock to stadiums to watch women鈥檚 football, and even greater numbers of fans tune in to the television and radio coverage.

Fishlock scored her 45th goal for Wales in Tuesday's 2-0 Euro 2025 qualifying win over Kosovo, moving her ahead of Helen Ward in the nation's all-time leading scorer standings.

With an extraordinary 154 Wales caps to her name, at the age of 37 the Seattle Reign star has lived through those huge changes in the women's game and will bring all her experience and insight to what promises to be an eye-opening series.
