Newport County have re-signed striker Courtney Baker-Richardson and recruited midfielder Cameron Antwi on two-year deals.

Baker-Richardson, 28, returns to Rodney Parade having scored eight goals in 31 Exiles appearances during the 2021-22 campaign.

The former Swansea City player scored 10 goals in 44 appearances for Newport鈥檚 League Two rivals Crewe Alexandra last season.

He was offered a new deal at Crewe with his contract up this summer, but has instead opted to become managerless Newport鈥檚 ninth close-season signing.

鈥淚鈥檝e obviously been at Newport before so I鈥檓 well aware of what is expected down here,鈥 Baker-Richardson told Newport鈥檚 website.

鈥淚 know the ambition of the club from when I was here. It鈥檚 a homely environment for me and I know what I must do to win the fans over."

Baker-Richardson scored 19 goals across two seasons at Crewe, who he joined after leaving Newport.

He has also played for the likes of Barnet, Barrow and Accrington Stanley.

Antwi, 22, is a Fulham academy product who has joined as a free agent after leaving Cardiff City Under-21s following spells at Blackpool and loan stints at Telford United and Southport.

鈥淲hen I spoke to everyone at Newport, I knew this was the right club for me," Antwi told Newport's website.

Baker-Richardson and Antwi follow Michael Spellman, Matt Baker, Jacob Carney, Oliver Greaves, Kai Whitmore, Joe Thomas, Ciaran Brennan and Anthony Glennon in joining Newport this summer.

The signings have been made despite the fact that Newport are yet to appoint a successor to Graham Coughlan, who left his role as manager on 20 June.
